Full SASSA payment schedule for 2026/2027

SASSA has already confirmed the payment calendar for the 2026/2027 financial year. Keeping the full schedule can help you plan ahead rather than searching for a new payment date every month.

November 2026 SASSA payment dates

In November 2026, the payment cycle begins on Tuesday, 3 November with the Older Persons Grant. Disability Grants follow on Wednesday, 4 November, while Children’s Grants are scheduled for Thursday, 5 November.

This is a good example of why the date is not automatically the second day of every month. The official calendar should always be your reference.

December 2026 SASSA payment dates

For December 2026, Older Persons Grants are scheduled for 2 December, Disability Grants for 3 December and Children’s Grants for 4 December.

Because December is a month in which many households plan around festive-season expenses, checking the official date in advance can make budgeting easier. It is still important not to treat rumours of “early Christmas payments” as official unless SASSA itself announces a change.

January 2027 SASSA payment dates

The January schedule begins slightly later. Older Persons Grants are scheduled for 5 January 2027, Disability Grants for 6 January and Children’s Grants for 7 January.

That later start shows why saving an outdated monthly pattern can cause confusion. The annual calendar already accounts for how weekends and holidays affect the beginning of each payment cycle.

February and March 2027 payment dates

For February 2027, SASSA lists 2 February for Older Persons Grants, 3 February for Disability Grants and 4 February for Children’s Grants.

The same sequence applies in March 2027: 2 March for Older Persons, 3 March for Disability and 4 March for Children’s Grants. March closes the published 2026/27 financial-year payment schedule.

Why payment dates sometimes move

SASSA has explained that several practical considerations are used when setting dates. Payments should not normally take place on the first day of the month, on a Monday in the usual scheduling approach, immediately after a public holiday, or over a weekend.

These rules help explain why the sequence sometimes starts on the second day of the month and at other times begins on the third, fourth or fifth.

How to check whether a payment date is genuine

Social media posts about SASSA can spread quickly, particularly when they contain a payment date or promise an extra payment. Before relying on one of those messages, compare it with an official government or SASSA source.

Look carefully at the month and year. A genuine screenshot from a previous year can still be misleading if someone shares it as though it applies today.

How much will SASSA pay?

The payment date tells you when a grant should become available, but it does not tell you the value of the grant. Amounts vary significantly depending on whether you receive an Older Persons Grant, Disability Grant, Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant or another type of assistance.

If your real question is how much money you should expect, check the separate guide below. It explains the current 2026 SASSA grant amounts and the difference between the main grant types.

What should I do if my date has passed?

If the correct date for your grant has passed, first make sure you were checking the right grant category. A Children’s Grant will not necessarily become available on the Older Persons payment date, for example.

If the relevant date has definitely passed and there is still a problem, use official SASSA channels to investigate it. Do not pay anyone who claims they can speed up, unlock or release a legitimate social grant payment.
